Certified sustainability with Eneco HollandseZon®

Apr 15, 2021

Since long, the environmental sustainability of its operations has been a matter of priority rather than one of choice at Makso. This means that we seize every opportunity with both hands to do better in that respect. That is why we not only generate electricity with solar panels on our roof, but also make sure the additional electricity we purchase is green. For this, we choose Eneco HollandseZon®. This is solar power, generated in a Dutch solar park and certified with the Milieukeur quality mark from SMK (Stichting Milieukeur).

This Milieukeur is more than just another badge for good behaviour. SMK is a highly regarded, independent organisation that audits participating companies and institutions annually. It guarantees that all the power we use in the production and assembly of prototypes and products, has been generated sustainably in the Netherlands.

The purchase of solar energy is a double-edged sword for Makso. First, we help our customers to produce their products more sustainably. In addition, we reduce our CO2 emissions and contribute to a more sustainable energy production in the Netherlands.
In 2021, this will amount to an approximate reduction of 183,570 kg of CO2; as much as what 8344 trees will absorb in a year.
